MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
MARCH 5, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we continue during this time of Lent, I ask that you join me in re-dedicating to the Virtues and practices of this holy season. We take time to focus on improving and increasing our prayer lives in order to be closer to Christ. We participate in almsgiving and service to care for the least of our brothers and sisters. Finally, we fast in order to clear our minds and focus on the love of Christ for us.
During March we will focus on the Virtue of Respect which is defined as “recognizing the dignity of all people.” During the month, students and staff will come to a better understanding of how to practice this Virtue in their everyday life at school and at home. We will also come to understand how St. Jeanne Jugan, St. Damian, and St. John Paul II are perfect role models of practicing respect in their lives.
I cannot thank you, our parents, enough for your understanding and patience during this school year. I know that remote days are difficult on our families and I hope that we are finished with those for the remainder of the year. With good weather, a healthy student body, and the staff finishing their vaccinations, I hope there will be no future reason to go remote. For the younger students, if it is too difficult on your family to go remote, please notify your child’s teacher and they will assist and support you. As you are here for us, we are also here for you.
The end of the 3rd quarter is Friday, March 19. I announced last week to our virtual families that since students and staff are healthy, our health protocols are working, and the staff will be fully vaccinated, we will cease our Virtual Academy effective Monday, March 22. In addition, we will not be offering a Virtual Academy for the 2021-2022 school year because we have been able to protect our students and staff and we know that in-person education is best the student.
These are unprecedented times, but we are resilient.
These are challenging times, but we are hopeful.
These are stressful times,
but we place our trust in Christ to carry us through.
Please continue to keep all St. Ignatius students, staff, and families in your thoughts and prayers.
In Christ's Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
