MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
MARCH 26, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I pray this finds you well and enjoying the warm weather. It is a blessing to be able to enjoy time outside, hear the birds sing, and start bike riding, hiking, and other outdoor activities. What a welcome relief from this Covid-19 winter. Spring has sprung and we are very happy!
As new life is blooming all around us, I am happy to announce the birth of Dominic Thomas Youngquist, the new son of middle school teacher Mrs. Niki Youngquist. Mom and baby are doing well.
As we go into Holy Week, I continue to lift you up in prayer as we commemorate these Holy events. On Sunday, we will hear the story of Jesus' arrival into Jerusalem and we celebrate Palm Sunday. Later in the week, Jesus meets in the Upper Room with his disciples to celebrate the Passover feast or as we know it, the Last Supper. Later that night, he was betrayed while in prayer with his Father on the Mount of Olives. On Good Friday, we once again hear about His trial, punishment, and crucifixion. I pray that you are able to celebrate some or all of these events with your family and parish either in person or via live streaming.
Lord God,
I give you thanks, for you are good, and your mercy is endless.
Here I stand, at the start of this Holy week,
This week in which your church remembers Jesus’ passion and death,
And I am distracted by many things.
Turn my eyes now to the One who comes in Your name
The One who opens the gates of righteousness
The One who answers when we call.
I bless you, Lord, for shining your light upon me,
And for sending your Son to us, in human frailty.
To walk the road we walk.
Open my eyes that I may see Him coming,
And may praise Him with a pure heart.
And may walk in the way of His suffering,
And share also in His Resurrection.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever. (From ibelieve.com)

These are unprecedented times, but we are resilient. These are challenging times, but we are hopeful. These are stressful times, but we place our trust in Christ to carry us through.
