MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
MAY 7, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a great Art Week students and staff have had at Saint Ignatius! While things looked a little different due to Covid 19, the students were still able to participate in some insightful and creative activities highlighting the Arts. During the week, many of the students attended Eric Genius, a visiting musician's concert, or our very own St. Ignatius bands. A virtual art show was held including artwork from various homerooms. Be sure to see the links later in this Wire to view these creations! Each day started with an informational announcement and highlighted various staff members who have artistic skills and abilities. We ended the week with a virtual, but live, magic show!
The Virtue of the Month is Responsibility. We have defined responsibility as “being reliable in your duties and accountable for your actions.” Throughout the month, students will receive lessons and talk about the various responsibilities they have as students, children, and as a community member. Great saintly role models will be shared and discussed including St. Peter, St. Henry II, and Blessed Bartolo Longo.
We congratulate all of our second graders who have received their First Communion over the last few weeks.
I ask that you continue to keep the Braun family in your prayers as they mourn the loss of their father and husband.
These are unprecedented times, but we are resilient.
These are challenging times, but we are hopeful.
These are stressful times, but we place our trust in Christ to carry us through.
Please continue to keep all St. Ignatius students, staff, and families
in your thoughts and prayers.
In Christ's Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AND OF YEAR MASS
Our all school End of the Year Mass will be held on the last day of school on Friday, May 28 at 9:15am. Because of covid regulations, we will be celebrating Mass with students only outside on the playground behind school. There will be no parking beyond the yellow barriers.
After Mass, students will return to homerooms, and they will be dismissed about 10:45am.
We strongly encourage your child to ride the bus that day. If children need to be car riders, they will be dismissed according to grade level and will wait on the sidewalk next to the school until you come to the sidewalk to pick them up. Please wait on the blacktop.
