MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
SEPTEMBER 17, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Saint Ignatius is a busy place! At the beginning of the week, our preschool students were
introduced to a new program, the Catechist of the Good Shepherd. We have enjoyed seeing the students all dressed up for school pictures today and yesterday, and classrooms continue to be engaged in numerous kinds of learning activities. It is a grand opening to the school year!
In two weeks, on September 27, we will have a nice celebration as we commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the school's founding. Students and staff will enjoy some birthday goodies and activities. Once again, I feel it is appropriate to say thank you to our families. Your support of the school and the parish makes this a remarkable place for learning, prayer, and spiritual growth. We are honored that you have chosen St. Ignatius for your child's education and spiritual development.
In my opening paragraph, I stated that our preschool students participated in the inaugural
implementation of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd(CGS). This religious instructional
model and program is a hands-on experience with various Bible stories, liturgy, and faith. The Atrium, which is the classroom, is in one of the conference rooms in the parish office. It is filled with activities for the children to encounter their faith through the senses. The current plan is to institute this program in the preschool this year, Kindergarten next year, first grade in the 2023-2024 school year, and finally in second grade the following year. Your children are very blessed to be part of this program. Please watch the church bulletin for more information about the CGS.
I continue to lift you, our families, up in prayer every day. Please continue to raise our staff in your prayers. It is a source of strength and support.
In Christ's Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
