MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
OCTOBER 29, 2021
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As students and parents arrived at campus, they were greeted by all types of Superheroes! This year’s theme for Halloween is, “There is a Superhero in All of Us! Spiderman and Batman were guarding the front entrance of school and the office was transformed into the Bat Cave. The Hulk, Superman and Wonder Woman were all in attendance. What a fun way to start the day and to celebrate a great school year.
A huge thanks to the committee under the leadership of Mrs. LaPine. The following coordinated and created all types of decorations in and around the building. Thanks also to Mr. Holt, Mrs. Berling, Mrs. Bowling, Mrs. Burrill, Mrs. Emerick, Ms. Frey, Ms. Pacitti, Ms. Schoenfeld, Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Tierney, Ms. Farley, Mrs. Cross, Mrs. McErlane-Miller, Mrs. Altenau and Ms. Daffron. This group’s creativity and hard work made for a great day.
The bus driver shortage continues in the Northwest Local School District. Please check the district website every weekend to determine if your child’s bus route is affected.
As the primary educator of your child I would like to share some information from Fr. Fernandes and Fr. Christian who met with all of our students and staff about our monthly virtue, Reverence. When coming to church the children can show reverence by sitting quietly, genuflecting when entering and leaving the pew, acknowledging the Real Presence of Christ in the tabernacle. Another way to be reverent is to listen to God’s word in the readings and the homily and try to take away one thing to reflect upon. While at Mass, remember we are making an offering to Christ, our joys and our sorrows, through prayer and song. And finally, the other ways to show reverence are by reciting the appropriate responses and using the correct form when receiving the Eucharist. If you see your child struggling while at Mass, please take a moment and help them to show these wonderful signs of reverence.
I continue to lift you, our families, up in prayer every day. Please continue to pray for the students, staff, and benefactors of this school. It is a source of strength and support.
In Christ's Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
Our enrollment and re-enrollment period will begin on Monday, December 6, for the 2022-2023 school year. Please remember that one third of your tuition must be paid before December 6. Enrollment will be prioritized to current families, and active St. Ignatius families, as in previous school years.
UNIFORM SHORTS SEASON EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 1
Typically, the uniform for our students changes to pants on November 1. We are going to postpone that change until December 1. Be mindful that children will continue to be at recess when it is cold outside.
MORNING CAR RIDERS
Since we have more car riders coming to campus due to the Northwest School District bussing cancellations, we ask that you please be mindful of the staff out front, and follow their directions. We request that you pull forward as far as possible so that more cars can enter the lot and minimize the back up on North Bend Road. Thank you so much!
