RESTRUCTURING OF MINISTRIES TO MCCREARY COUNTY AND ST. LEO'S
In this new year, there will be some changes in our ministry to two of our parish sponsored missions: McCreary County Good Shepherd Mission and St. Leo’s Food Pantry. After much conversation among ministry leaders, volunteers, parish staff and our pastor, it was decided to restructure some of the ways we support these missions. We will be directing a few large collections to McCreary County since they are located a lengthy three hours away, and giving smaller, more consistent and varied types of support to St. Leo’s since they are just 10 minutes away. Below are the ways in which we will be supporting these missions moving forward:
McCreary County
**All donated items and funds from Cart Sunday (1st Sunday in Lent).
**All donated items and funds from Christmas in July (Sunday before July 25).
**New toy collection through our school prior to Thanksgiving.
St. Leo’s Food Pantry
**All donated items in the parish office lobby bookcase throughout the year. Monthly announcements of St. Leo’s most urgently needed items will be posted in the bulletin.
**Knights of Columbus monthly cleaning of the Food Pantry.
**Parishioner volunteers work shifts at the Food Pantry.
**Support of St. Leo’s Memorial Day Walk fundraiser.
**Used toy collection through our school near November 10 (Feast of St. Leo the Great), donated to St. Leo’s Annual Toy and Clothing Sale.
**Annual second collection at Masses on the Sunday before November 10 given to St. Leo’s Food Pantry.
