MR. VANCE'S NEWS FOR THE WEEK
APRIL 28, 2022
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As May approaches, we will be in the final stretch for the 21-22 school year! There is still lots of learning to be done along with many fun activities. We ask that students come to school rested and prepared for the day as we complete these final 4 weeks!
For parents of a 3rd-8th graders, you should have received your child's midterm report for 4th quarter this past Monday. If you did not see it, please contact the school office and we will resend it to you. You also have access to it in the ALMA app or website. Click on your child’s name and then go to the Report Card tab.
Also, a gentle reminder for students in grades 2-7, that the 2022 Iowa Test results have been loaded in your child’s Alma account. Click on your child’s name and then
on the File Cabinet tab. You will see folder with test results under this tab.
This weekend begins the celebration of First Communion for some of our second graders. The students in Mrs. Rischmann’s and Ms. Schoenfeld’s homerooms will receive the Body and Blood of Christ this weekend for the first time. We are very happy and proud of them on this special occasion. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.
Next week, St. Ignatius celebrates Art Week. This annual event provides an opportunity for
an extra focus and emphasis on the Arts. Our theme this year is “Seeking Truth, Goodness, and Beauty Through Our Senses.” The Art Week Committee has been very busy and students will experience and participate in a school wide art project and exhibit. The exhibit is called “Why You Matter!” Each child and adult in the building has been photographed and responded to the prompt, “I matter because….” Using the visual sense, students will discover that the Great Artist, God, has created them in His image and likeness and that they are a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Throughout the week, various activities will occur including a play for the preK-2nd graders, a band concert for all grade levels, chalk art, and a magic show. What a great week it will be for our students as we focus on the Arts! The “Why You Matter” picture exhibit will be open for public viewing, and more information will be available next week.
I continue to lift you and all St. Ignatius families in prayer every day. Please continue to pray for the staff, students, and benefactors of this school, and a special prayer for our students preparing for First Communion and those getting ready to graduate from St. Ignatius. May you and your family feel Jesus’ presence every day.
In Christ’s Peace,
Mr. Kevin Vance
Principal
