Mr. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
JANUARY 6, 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This first week of 2023 has gone very well with the restart of school. It is such a blessing to see the children’s smiling faces and diligent work. If this level of enthusiasm continues, we will continue to have a remarkable school year!
Our virtue of the month is Fidelity. Students will better understand that Fidelity is the Virtue of being faithful to promises and commitments. A few important people will be introduced to the students as great examples of fidelity in action. In PreK through grade 2, we will hear the stories about St. Cecelia. In 3rd-5th grades, we will be introduced to Blessed Luigi and Maria Cuattrocchi. Finally, in 6th-8th grades, we will witness how to live out Fidelity from St. Gianna Molla.
Beginning January 9, the entire Archdiocese of Cincinnati is being asked to participate in the National Eucharistic Revival. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. This Eucharistic Revival will be a movement of Catholics across the U.S., healed, converted, formed and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist. Please go to this
website to learn more about this study and time of prayer.
Please keep our 8th graders in your thoughts and prayers. This upcoming week they will be notified of their high school acceptance for next year, and this is a very stressful time for them. Your continued prayers are a source of strength and comfort for them.
Finally, I invite all of our families and students to an Open House at the beginning of Catholic Schools Week from 1:00-2:30pm on Sunday, January 29. Come and tour your child’s room, meet their teachers, and review some of their classwork. We look forward to seeing you then!
Please join me in continuing to pray that this school year is filled with wonder and awe for our students. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.
In Christ’s Peace,
Kevin Vance
