MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE
MARCH 17, 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! The hallways are filled with lots of students in green as we celebrate Saint Patrick. Our Kindergarteners went on a hunt today, finding clues and watching for leprechauns who were running loose in the building! They diligently searched and searched, and when they returned to their rooms, the leprechauns had been there and left them a mess. What a fun day here at St. Ignatius!
As we enter the third trimester, it is time to assess how well your child is doing in his/her classes in order to finish the year strong. If you see that your child is not performing up to their ability or is struggling, please reach out to talk with the teacher. If you feel you need a telephone or in-person conference, please feel free to contact the teacher involved. We are here to support your child in reaching his/her full potential.
Over the last few weeks, our many of our students have been on various field trips. On the fourth grade's recent field trip to the Children's Museum, staff from the theatre stopped one of our teachers to let them know that our students are always so well behaved. While at Camp Joy, the sixth graders were also complimented by the camp staff about their engagement and good behavior. As a principal, these acknowledgments of how well our students behave and participate is a remarkable feeling, and it is not just a reflection of the school but also of our families.
Starting Monday evening, March 17, 25 students and three staff members will be starting their journey to Nancy, France. During the first six days of the trip, our seventh and eighth graders will participate in the student exchange program we have with St. Sigisbert. Our students are very excited to see their French friends who visited here in the fall. We will finish our time in France with a tour of Paris and then head home on March 30. We are so fortunate to have this special extended learning experience! Please keep the students and staff in your prayers as they travel.
Please keep our second and seventh graders in your prayers. These students are in the final stages of their Sacramental preparation for their First Communion and Confirmation. We are very proud of these students as they continue on the path of deepening their relationship to Jesus.
Please join me in praying that this school year is filled with wonder and awe for our students. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.
In Christ’s Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
