Dear Parents and Guardians,
Spring is here and we are all excited for some warmer weather and beautiful blooms! Our students have been working very hard these past couple of weeks taking their Iowa tests. We are scheduled to finish up with all grade levels next week. Please continue to make sure your child eats a good breakfast, gets a good night sleep, and keeps absences to a minimum.
Twenty five of our students and three faculty members are currently having an amazing experience in France! Each St. Ignatius student is placed with a French family (many are with the same families of the student they hosted here in the fall) and they have been busy visiting many sites near the city of Nancy, France. This week they spent time in Strausberg, went to Koeniigsberg Castle, enjoyed some shopping, and of course French food! Today they will spend time at the school of their French hosts, St. Sigisbert-Notre Dame Academy. We continue to pray for their safe travels and look forward to hearing more about their adventures!!
We continue to lift you and all St. Ignatius families in prayer every day. Please continue to pray for the staff, students, and benefactors of this school. It is a source of strength and support. Also, please offer a special prayer for those students preparing for First Communion and Confirmation. May you and your family feel Jesus’ presence every day.

SCHOOL COMMITTEE SEEKING 3 NEW MEMBERS
The St. Ignatius School Committee is seeking three new members for the 2023-2024 school year. The roles of the committee include policy setting for the school that is reflected in the parent/student handbook and members also serve as an advisory group to the Principal. Meetings are held throughout the school year at least four to five times. Members may also assist with the Ice Cream Social for new students in August and Open House in January during Catholic Schools Week. Members are asked to serve a three year term. Interested parents should complete the nomination form by Friday, March 31.

Our annual academic assessments will commence during the month of March. All students in grades 2-7 will participate in these assessments. In addition, all children on the Peterson, Autism, or EdChoice Scholarships will participate in this assessment. Your child’s homeroom teacher should be sharing a calendar of testing dates with you. Please minimize removing your child/ren from school on the dates identified for testing. Students should get a good night's sleep and have a nutritious breakfast to be best prepared for the testing.

Catechist training is a commitment, but so worthwhile. If you are willing to commit to becoming a regularly scheduled catechist at St. Ignatius, we will even help cover the cost of your training!
There are a few opportunities coming up for beginning training nearby this summer.
