Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we continue to observe the Easter season, we carry on with many fun activities and exciting learning opportunities happening at St. Ignatius!
On Monday evening, we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation at the Basilica Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains. 118 students were confirmed, surrounded by their sponsors, families, and the school staff. We are very proud of the newly confirmed and look forward to their contributions to the Church. I would also like to thank Mrs. Abele and Mrs. Burgan for their teaching and coordinating of this special Liturgy.

I would like to take a moment and recognize those 8th graders who have made the commitment to serve in our Church as Eucharistic Ministers. After being trained for this ministry by Fr. Christian and Mrs. Bender, these students will now minister to their class and schoolmates at our weekly Liturgies. Congratulations and thank you to the following 8th grade students: John K., Luke R., Josh M., Ryan D., Dominic B., Reagan G., Mark A., and Ava P.
Please keep our second-graders in your prayers. They are in the final stages of their sacramental preparation for First Communion. We are very proud of these students as they continue on the path of deepening their relationship with Jesus.

"TEENS, TWEENS & SOCIAL MEDIA"
On Tuesday, May 30 at 7:00pm in Loyola Hall, Stephen Smith will give his presentation “Teens, Tweens & Social Media.” Mr. Smith is a former high school coach and teacher with over 40 years’ experience in the world of interactive media development and IT Consulting.
His presentation will address several topics including: how problem apps, websites, social media and video games that some children are using might impact the mental health of children, the consequences of sending inappropriate images, words, and responses to posts, the increase access that children have to pornography, the steps parents must take to protect their children online, and more.
Mr. Smith will give a similar and age appropriate program at the Health and Safety Fair to the fifth, sixth and seventh grade. He will review how and why apps are addictive, the consequences of the misuse of technology, and the impact on privacy, mental health and more. He will NOT address the use of pornography.

2023 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
YOUTH VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS
Join us on a Holy Land adventure to learn what life was like in Biblical times for Daniel and his friends, and explore how God is always with us!
**VBS camp is for children ages 4-10 (rising preschool-4th grade).
**Preschool children must have previous school experience to participate, and will have an age appropriate version of the program provided.
**Children in Kindergarten through 4th grade will be placed in mixed age level groups, named after the 12 tribes of Israel. Each tribe will be led by older student volunteers. **Children will enjoy large group celebrations with music, as well as tribe time together as they plan their tribe’s rotation through stations of games, crafts and snacks in the Marketplace, and Bible story time

TOTUS TUUS 2023
This summer St. Ignatius will be hosting for the second time Totus Tuus, an interactive catechetical summer camp for students 1st through 12th grade. Young missionaries will be coming in to teach our youth about the faith and foster in them a new love of Catholicism. This will be a fun filled week with fellowship, learning, and above all a deep reliance on the sacraments. Our youth will have the opportunity to experience daily mass along with confession and adoration experiences!
**1st through 6th graders will meet during the day from 9am to 2:30pm Monday June 12th to Friday June 16.
**7th through 12th graders will meet in the evenings from 7pm-9pm in the Youth Room beginning Sunday June 11 to Thursday July 15.

May is the month when we honor Mary, our Blessed Mother. Once again, Parish Health will be launching Miles for Mary, only this year, the challenge will be to complete 30 miles over the course of the entire month of May. Participants will not be required to complete a mile each day, but may double or triple up and take days off in between, ultimately reaching 30 miles by May 31st. The goal is to honor Mary through our miles with prayer and reflection. Praying the Rosary (or a decade…), a Hail Mary, the Memorare or listening to beautiful music about Mary while doing our miles are all great ways to do this. The cost is $10 and proceeds will be a split-the-pot between the winner (drawn randomly out of all who successfully complete all 30 miles) and the parish. Need not be a parishioner to join (invite your friends and family!). Please contact me at krewwer@sainti.org or (513) 661-6565 ext. 2742 to sign up. Last year’s lucky winner walked away with winnings of over $600! If you would like to pay via Venmo (@Kate-Rewwer), please use Miles for Mary as the reason for payment.
