Dear Parents and Guardians,
Students and staff celebrated Fine Arts by participating in enjoying various activities during our Art Week! Elder's Steel Drum band was here on Tuesday, the Space Painter juggling act was here on Wednesday, the 8th grade completed some complex chalk art on the playground, many of us watched videos, and practiced how to draw. Today we enjoyed a fantastic performance by our own St. Ignatius Symphonic and Concert Bands! This week was dedicated to highlighting some of the Arts and honoring one of our Core Values of Educating the whole child: academically, spiritually, artistically, social-emotionally, and physically.
Last weekend some of our second graders received their First Communion, and more will be receiving Jesus this weekend. We thank our staff for their amazing support and teaching, especially Ms. Schoenfeld, Mrs. Rischmann, Ms. Cassaro, Mrs. Crowley, and Ms. Eichhold. Also, a big thank you to our parents for nurturing the Faith in their children and families.
This week we also learned that Fr. Tom’s father passed away a week after his mother died. Fr. Tom went to Northern Illinois this week, once again, to be with his family and to bury his father.
I have been in contact with Mrs. Colina during the week; her husband continues to be in hospice care. Your prayers are a source of comfort and strength while they face these difficult times.
Please join me in praying that this school year continues to be filled with wonder and awe for our students. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.

Congratulations to Trupartner of the Month, presented by TruPartner Credit Union, St. Ignatius School and Trupartner of the Month, 5th grader, Bernie B. After being asked to clean up the dirt that they accidentally tracked in from recess, Bernie and a classmate swept up all the dirt in the entire room without being asked. It was a great help to the teacher! Thanks for being such a great helper, Bernie! Bernie will receive a $100 tuition credit and gift from TruPartner Credit Union!

DROP OFF AND PICK UP SAFETY
I am asking everyone to please be mindful of the procedures in place for drop off and pick up. Just this week, there have been two different incidents of cars in our lot not following protocol and creating very dangerous situations for other drivers and our students. I know we all lead busy lives and we have places to go, but that does not justify putting our kids in danger. Please be patient, wait your turn in line, park in the proper parking spots, and be mindful of students and adults walking to their cars in the lot. Everyone's cooperation is needed and greatly appreciated.

Final Tuition Payments for the 22-23 School Year

Happy Art Week Everyone! Links to the four virtual art shows are below. They should play automatically, however in order to view them with the audio, you need to click on the speaker icon on the bottom left of the first slide before it advances. As in the past couple of years, the shows are divided by homeroom (noted below, by the links). Nearly every 1st-8th grade student is represented, however there are a couple of exceptions (I think four) this year due to a couple of students taking work home before it was able to be photographed or not completing work (pretty much fourth quarter students that didn't finish prior to my maternity leave). ST. IGNATIUS OLYMPIC DAY IS BACK! JUNE 1
Let's all hope for great weather! We are excited to have over 90 volunteer spots for parents to join in this fun day! We are in need of volunteers for set-up, drinks and snacks, lunch and 8 different events.

All Volunteers must be Safe-Parish trained and current on all of their bulletins.

The eighth grade Carnival will be held outside the gym, along the Boomer Road side of school on Thursday, May 18, with a rain date of Friday, May 19. All items left in the Lost and Found at the end of the school year will be donated to St. Vincent dePaul. It is located outside the gym by the Boomer Road door. Parents are welcome to sign in and check the area for any lost items!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14, 5:30pm
The 2nd annual Iggy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 14, at 5:30pm at St. Ignatius. The event consists of the 5k, the Kids Dash and an after party.
Last year's event saw approximately 300 participants, volunteers and spectators. The 5k welcomed competitive runners, walkers and all of those in between! Children and families raved about the Kids Dash with a start and finish line just for them, medals for each participant, and other fun surprises. Afterward, the community gathered for fellowship, bonfires, medal ceremony, food and fun.
The Iggy 5k is an opportunity for current families and parishioners to connect, and for past parishioners and school alumni to reunite with the St. Ignatius community. May is the month when we honor Mary, our Blessed Mother. Once again, Parish Health will be launching Miles for Mary, only this year, the challenge will be to complete 30 miles over the course of the entire month of May. Participants will not be required to complete a mile each day, but may double or triple up and take days off in between, ultimately reaching 30 miles by May 31. The goal is to honor Mary through our miles with prayer and reflection. Praying the Rosary (or a decade…), a Hail Mary, the Memorare or listening to beautiful music about Mary while doing our miles are all great ways to do this. The cost is $10 and proceeds will be a split-the-pot between the winner (drawn randomly out of all who successfully complete all 30 miles) and the parish. Need not be a parishioner to join (invite your friends and family!). Please contact me at krewwer@sainti.org or (513) 661-6565 ext. 2742 to sign up. 42 parishioners participated in Rescue Project small groups through Lent and the Easter season! Many of them heard and experienced the Gospel in a way that was utterly fresh and moving. This is only the beginning! You are invited to lead or join a Rescue Project small group in our second offering of this 8-week endeavor, which will begin the week of Pentecost, May 28. We also want to invite non-Catholics and non-Christians to join a group so they can experience the dramatic love of God for them!

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER TRAINING
Please consider being an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. Ignatius. A training session will be offered Tuesday, May 16, at 6:00pm and Saturday, May 20, at 10:00am in church. TOTUS TUUS 2023
This summer St. Ignatius will be hosting for the second time Totus Tuus, an interactive catechetical summer camp for students 1st through 12th grade. Young missionaries will be coming in to teach our youth about the faith and foster in them a new love of Catholicism. This will be a fun filled week with fellowship, learning, and above all a deep reliance on the sacraments. Our youth will have the opportunity to experience daily mass along with confession and adoration experiences!
**1st through 6th graders will meet during the day from 9am to 2:30pm Monday June 12th to Friday June 16.
**7th through 12th graders will meet in the evenings from 7pm-9pm in the Youth Room beginning Sunday June 11 to Thursday July 15.
