MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE
MAY 12, 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are approaching the final days of the 22-23 school year with many fun activities planned for our students including the Health and Safety Fair, Olympic Day, and IWalk, just to name a few!
Today our Kindergarteners celebrated a Mothers Day with their moms, and our half-day preschool children recently had picnics and performed for their families!
Our eighth graders will start their end-of-the-year activities next week. This remarkable group of young men and women will participate in a day-long service project at The Shelterhouse serving the homeless of Cincinnati, along with hosting and working this year’s 8th grade carnival. They will have a fun day on Monday with their version of field day. And on Monday, May 22, they will have a day of prayer, song, and reflection at the Holy Spirit Center while they are on a retreat. On Wednesday, May 24, we will gather on to celebrate the Graduation of our Class of 2023. This class has received more scholarship money than any other class at St. Ignatius, and probably the highest in the entire Archdiocese, surpassing over $3,000,000! We are very proud of these students, and very happy for their families!
The funeral arrangements have been made for Mr. Tom Magill, husband of Mrs. Deb Colina, first grade teacher. You can view those arrangements at https://www.cincinnati.com/obituaries/cen229568. Please keep Mr. Magill, Mrs. Colina, and their families in your prayers.
On behalf of the staff, I would like to wish all of our mothers a very happy and relaxing Mother’s Day this weekend. We are grateful for everything you do for your child/ren and the many sacrifices you make. Also, thank you for being a contributing member of the school and parish community. May you always feel God’s presence in your life!
Please join me in praying that this school year continues to be filled with wonder and awe for our students. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.
In Christ’s Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
