Dear Parents and Guardians,
Last night we celebrated our 8 th graders with their Graduation from St. Ignatius. The Class Salutatorian, Will L. and the Valedictorian, Callie E. led prayer and addressed their classmates. At the end of Mass, the graduates received their certificates and then enjoyed a celebration with their families. Congratulations to our Class of 2023! They are now one of the 5608 alumni of St. Ignatius. Listed below are the numerous awards and accolades given to the Class of 2023.

On Monday, May 15, we had our annual St. Ignatius Golf outing at Clovernook Country Club. The weather was iffy early in the morning, but turned out to be an absolutely perfect day, and 35 foursomes had a great time! We had the same turnout as last year, which are the two largest events ever!
Thanks to the outstanding support of our Pastor, Father Tom , Principal Kevin Vance, our advertisers and the generous support of the golfers who played in the outing, we are happy to report that we were able to raise a significant amount of money to support our worthwhile cause. The final tally is not in yet, but we are confident it was our best year ever!

SAVE THE DATE TUESDAY, MAY 30
"TEENS, TWEENS & SOCIAL MEDIA"
On Tuesday, May 30 at 7:00pm in Loyola Hall, Stephen Smith will give his presentation “Teens, Tweens & Social Media.” Mr. Smith is a former high school coach and teacher with over 40 years’ experience in the world of interactive media development and IT Consulting.
His presentation will address several topics including: how problem apps, websites, social media and video games that some children are using might impact the mental health of children, the consequences of sending inappropriate images, words, and responses to posts, the increase access that children have to pornography, the steps parents must take to protect their children online, and more.
Mr. Smith will give a similar and age appropriate program at the Health and Safety Fair to the fifth, sixth and seventh grade. He will review how and why apps are addictive, the consequences of the misuse of technology, and the impact on privacy, mental health and more. He will NOT address the use of pornography.

The annual Health and Safety Fair will take place on May 31. Students will hear from various health professionals, and participate in fun physical activities throughout the day. Please see the attached brochure for a list of participants/volunteers coming to school that day. If you would be interested in volunteering for this event next year, reach out to Kathy Reder!

OLYMPIC DAY TOP 10
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
1. If you are volunteering, please park in the parking lot in FRONT of church.
2. Volunteers should check in at the CONCESSION STAND at least 15 minutes before your shift!
3. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00am in the courtyard. Closing ceremonies are at 2:30pm in the courtyard.
4. Dress code: Students should wear their new “Be His Real Presence” Iwalk shirt. Shorts should be appropriate in length and fit.
5. Put sunscreen on your child’s faces, necks, and arms. They will be outside all day. Water bottles are ok, but student is responsible for it.
6. Dismissal: If the student will be leaving with a parent before 3:30pm dismissal, a note must be sent to the homeroom teacher on the DAY BEFORE Olympic Day. Bus and car riders will be the
same time.
7. All students MUST have a bag lunch! DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED!
8. Our nurse will be available all day.
9. The concession stand will serve as the Olympic Day headquarters.
10. Pray for sunshine! In the event of rain, we will move indoors and Opening and Closing ceremonies will be canceled.
CARDINAL SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS

Want to get ahead of game with school shopping for next school year? Cardinal school supply kits for the 2023-2024 school year are now available for purchase for students in grades 1-8. The kits are not required, and families may purchase supplies on their own as well. The kits will be available for pick up at school in August before school starts. LOST AND FOUND
All items left in the Lost and Found at the end of the school year will be donated to St. Vincent dePaul. It is located outside the gym by the Boomer Road door. Parents are welcome to sign in and check the area for any lost items!
There are numerous water bottles, coats, jackets, lunchboxes, eye glasses, uniform pants and sweats, and more!

Summer band workshop for any student involved in the St. Ignatius Band program, or any incoming 6th graders who studied wind instruments in music class this year.
Students will work on instrumental technique, music reading skills, and musicianship skills in a fun and nurturing environment.

TOTUS TUUS 2023
This summer St. Ignatius will be hosting for the second time Totus Tuus, an interactive catechetical summer camp for students 1st through 12th grade. Young missionaries will be coming in to teach our youth about the faith and foster in them a new love of Catholicism.
**1st through 6th graders will meet during the day from 9am to 2:30pm Monday June 12th to Friday June 16.
**7th through 12th graders will meet in the evenings from 7pm-9pm in the Youth Room beginning Sunday June 11 to Thursday July 15.
