Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that we are at the mid-point of the school year! It has flown by! Students and staff are hard at work, and we are beginning to accept new students for next school year. If you know of anyone looking to register their child for 24-25, I would encourage them to do so as soon as possible!
Just a gentle reminder that school is closed tomorrow, Friday, January 12, for School of Faith, and Monday, January 15, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The 26th annual Bible Bowl Competition will take place this evening here at school. We will welcome five other elementary schools for a friendly competition of “Bible trivia.” I am always amazed at how well our middle school students know the Bible! Best of luck to our St. Ignatius team and thanks to their coach, Mrs. Bender. Special thanks also to all who help to make it so successful, especially Mrs. Burgan, Mrs. Kroeger, and our many volunteers. How exciting for us this year, that Fr. Bolte is one of the moderators, as he was the original creator of the Bible Bowl! Special thanks as well to our Bible Bowl sponsors: LaRosa’s, Trinity Catholic Bookstore, Skyline, The Place, Roosters-Western Hills, Supreme Nut and Candy, Dr. John Rewwer DDS, the Knights of Columbus-LaSalle Council, and St. Ignatius parish.
Please continue to pray that this school year is filled with wonder and awe for our students. We appreciate all the support we receive from our parents, parishioners, and community.

2024 DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD
We are ecstatic to announce Lou Eichhold '89 as the recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award! Mr. Eichhold has dedicated his life to education serving as a teacher and administration in both the public school system and in Catholic education. He currently serves as the principal of LaSalle High School and prior to this position served as the principal of St. Jude. Congrats to Mr. Eichhold! We look forward to seeing him during Catholic Schools Week.
2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR TUITION ASSISTANCE OPPORTUNITIES!
The following are opportunities for tuition assistance for the 2024-2025 school year:
The Archdiocese will once again offer two different types of scholarships to families to help with Catholic School tuition. The attached flyers go into more detail but here are a few important pieces of information:
Welcome Scholarships
- To qualify the student must be the FIRST child of the applicant to attend a Catholic School.
- Scholarships will be offered to a limited number of students PRESCHOOL-8th grade.
- A family will not be eligible if Ed Choice covers their full tuition amount.
- The application is first come first serve. Please apply ASAP as funds may run out.

Tuition Assistance Scholarships
- To be considered, families must complete an application in FACTS. Follow the link on the CEF page: https://catholicbestchoice.org/affordability#cef (scroll down to where it says "Catholic Education Foundation Elementary CEF Funds."

- A family will not be eligible if Ed Choice covers their full tuition amount.
- Applications must be submitted by February 25, 2024.

Acceptance Forms and Waivers
We check the EdChoice website several times a day, and as soon as we see an application go into the Awarded status, we are able to accept them, even prior to parents receiving the actual acceptance form in the US mail. When you receive this form, please send to Ms. Patty Thomas in the school office. In order for us to directly credit your account, please fill out and return the waiver that is attached to this Wire if you have not done so already. There is also a blank acceptance form to fill out if you have not received yours in the mail yet.

We invite you to try them with a substituted corn tortilla. Please let Beth Reynolds know if your student would like to order on this day. She will continue to convey any meals we can offer gluten free.

DENT AND WHITE OAK MARCO'S PIZZA
The PTO January food fundraiser is at 2 different Marco's Pizza's locations, which are owned by a St. Ignatius family. Please come out and support our PTO on either Tuesday, January 16 and/or Wednesday, January 17 at the Dent or White Oak Marco's Pizza. This fundraiser is an all day event from 11:00am-10:00pm!
Please read the attached flyer for details on how the class with the highest sale amount will win a free pizza party. As always thank you for your support!
BOWLING IS BACK!
Bowling teams are now forming for a spring session!
Teams will bowl weekly at Stump's Bowling Lanes on Fridays from March 8 to May 17. No experience is
necessary! Stump’s bowling coaches will provide instruction on etiquette, form and technique each week. Bowling is open to grades 2-8, and bowlers will bowl two games starting at 4:30pm. Weekly cost is $8 and
includes shoe rental and ball on a "pay as you play" basis. If you miss a week, you have the option to
make it up or skip (as long as it’s not habitual).

Two 7th grade St. I teams recently battled each other to end the St. I basketball tournament this past Saturday night. Team Hochwalt took 1st place in the finals.
The team includes Collin H.,, Grady G., Jakob B., Monty M., Anthony D., Evan T., Xander D., Chase B. and Chase R. Coached by Matt Hochwalt, Sarah Bertke and Mike Menz.
