MRS. HEISEL'S HEADLINES
FEBRUARY 2, 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
What a great Catholic Schools Week it has been! The students and staff have had a lot of fun, but have also helped a lot of people. Yesterday, all students and staff participated in a service project. Lunches were made and packed for St. Francis Seraph, placemats were made for residents of Bailey Place, scarves were made for Mary Magdalene House, and onesies and bibs were decorated for Mary Garden Showers, just to name a few. Thanks to everyone who also brought in crazy socks, school supplies, and items for St. Vincent DePaul. It makes me so proud to see our community giving of themselves and helping others.
Catholic Schools Week is also a time for recognition. At a special breakfast and school Mass, we recognized our Distinguished Alumnus, Mr. Lou Eichhold, principal of LaSalle High School. Congratulations to Mr. Eichhold, who lives out the St. Ignatius Core Value of The Centrality of God and the Catholic Faith as a leader of faith every day.
Each year, 7th-grade students are invited to participate in an essay contest. The essay reflects what they have learned by serving others. After Mass, we recognized the two winners from last year, one boy and one girl, who received a scholarship toward their 8th-grade tuition. This generous and kind gift is provided by the Butch and Karen Hubert Scholarship. Congratulations to Alexander J. and Isabella O.
We also have many teachers celebrating milestone anniversaries in Catholic education this year. We are so grateful for their dedication to Catholic education and especially to their service to St. Ignatius!
