MRS. HEISEL'S HEADLINES
FEBRUARY 15, 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
There are a lot of “centenarians” walking the halls today as we celebrate the 100th day of school! We are more than halfway through our school year - time is flying! Our 2nd trimester ends in a few weeks on March 8.
The season of Lent also began yesterday on Ash Wednesday. During this season, we focus on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. These forty days are a perfect time to strengthen our relationship with Jesus and to allow ourselves to take up our crosses as Christ did for us. Please check the bulletin for times available to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. All students, grades 2-8, will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament during the school day this Lenten season.
I have a correction to something I posted in last week’s Wire. I made a mistake in announcing the first day of school for next year. There are too many complications with starting on the Tuesday after the festival, so we will push it back to Wednesday. The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The ending day will remain the same, with a half day on Thursday, May 29, 2025. I am sorry for any confusion or dilemma this may have caused.
Please join me in praying that this school year is filled with wonder and awe for our students. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.
In Christ’s Peace,
Angie Heisel
Principal
