Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a great week here at St. Ignatius! First off, we celebrated Right to Read Week! During the week, each day started with a mesmerizing reading from a book led by Mr. Foley. Miss Alice from the Hamilton County Library visited students in grades K-5 and shared some fun books for them to read, and yesterday we dressed up like our favorite characters from a book. Teachers and students emphasized the importance of reading all week with fun activities and I was lucky enough to be a guest reader in many classrooms!
I want to also recognize and congratulate our 7th and 8th grade Academic teams who competed in the LaSalle Academic Competition this week. Our 8th grade team made it to the semi-finals on Monday night, and our 7th grade team made it to the final round on Tuesday, coming in 3rd overall in a very close match! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication, as well as the time and effort put in by their coaches, Ms. Bojarski and Mrs. Conneighton.
8th grade competitors included Sam B., Sam B., Amanda C., Duke C., and Sal D.
7th graders competitors included Jakob B., Emmett D., Maura D., Ben G., David H., Jackson O., and Jackson R.
We are so happy for our second graders in Ms. Schoenfeld’s room who will be receiving the Sacrament of First Communion this weekend. The students have worked very hard, prayed with and for each other, and their families have supported them through the entire process. We celebrate with them and their families during this special time.
Please join me in praying for our students and staff. May all of our students, parents, staff, alumni, and friends feel God’s loving presence now and always.

These funds are available by applying through our tuition assistance portal through FACTS Management, https://online.factsmgt.com/grant-aid/inst/3GVVG/landing-page. Funds are made available by generous donors and through such activities as the Golf Outing, the iWalk, and donations through the SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization). Applications should be completed by July 12, 2024.

DISCOUNTED CINCINNATI REDS TICKETS
Roger Bacon High School donated a surprise visit by Gapper, the Cincinnati Reds mascot, to the students at recess on Thursday. They had a blast! Roger Bacon is playing at Great American Ballpark in May, and the Reds are offering discounted tickets to THIS SATURDAY'S Reds game against Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels, along with a free voucher to watch Roger Bacon. The parish would like to invite all current and active Altar Servers (grades 5-8th) to a pizza party! We would like to celebrate and thank our servers for their dedication and service to this important ministry. As a token of our appreciation, we will have a pizza lunch for the students, on Thursday, May 2 in Loyola Hall. St. Ignatius will be unable to offer Totus Tuus during the summer of 2024. There are plans "in the works" to offer Totus Tuus in the summer of 2025. Interested in helping with the 2025 efforts, or have questions? Reach out to youthministry@sainti.org. Please pray that within our families we may continue to foster missionary work as a great service to the Church.

K OF C CAMPAIGN FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
After Masses on the weekend of April 27 and 28, the Knights of Columbus will be outside the doors of Church with buckets collecting for the Knight’s Campaign for People with Developmental Disabilities that is conducted annually throughout Ohio. Your donation recognizes the dignity of every person by helping provide people with developmental disabilities resources to live better lives. The primary beneficiary from this collection locally will be St. Joseph Home in Sharonville.

The Church doesn’t declare that the Shroud of Turin is the burial cloth of Jesus, but has left that up to science. To date it is the most examined ancient artifact in the world. While exploring one of only about 100 full-size photographic reproductions of the Shroud from the 1978 STURP investigation, we’ll explore what modern scientific evidence today tells us about the Shroud and the man buried in it, as well as what he experienced on the day of his crucifixion.
