MRS. HEISEL'S HEADLINES
JUNE 6, 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe we are at the last day! I don’t know about you, but this year has flown by! We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Your support and dedication this year have been invaluable to us. We truly understand the sacrifices you make for your child’s Catholic education here at St. Ignatius and are deeply grateful for your trust in us. We do our very best to provide a loving, nurturing, inclusive, environment, rich in Catholic identity. We appreciate and welcome the strong partnership between home and school, and strive to foster an environment where students can reach their greatest potential, both academically and spiritually.
I would like to thank the members of the School Committee under the leadership of Kate DiCarlo. Kate was joined by Lisa Lasita, Adam Lohbeck, Jennifer Menner, Robert Morris, Kaitlyn Newkirk, Sara Gehring, Emily Schwegman, and Anne Threm. A special thank you to Kate, Lisa, and Adam as this is their final year, and I am very grateful for their time and expertise given to St. Ignatius. We welcome Alex Spence, Briana Trauger, and Robin Long to the committee for the 24-25 school year.
Thank you also to our PTO Board members who served this year. We are very appreciative of your hard work and leadership of the many programs that support students and teachers. Thank you to our Co-Presidents, Stephanie Becker and Emily Daffin, Co-Vice-Presidents, Alli Miazga and Kyle Cobb, Treasurer, Julie Doerger, and Secretary, Amanda Romanowski.
Olympic Day was a great success and so much fun was had by all! I watched the weather all week and it was supposed to be a complete washout! How blessed we were with the amazing day we ended up having! A HUGE thank you to Katie Gilkey, Gina Leranth, Jen Cullum, and the countless volunteers who made this event a success! We are so grateful for the time and thought you put into all of the events, and for creating a super fun day for our students!
Another HUGE thank you to our nurse, Kathy Reder, and the Health and Safety Fair Committee. Kathy works so hard every year to bring in relevant presenters and coordinate over 200 sessions on health and safety for our students. Some of the topics included Dental Health, Eye and Vision Health, Nutrition, CPR, Mental Health, Rowing, Pickleball, MMA, Heart Health, Fire Safety, Sports Injuries, Choking Prevention, and Vaping Prevention. Another big thanks to BB Riverboats for providing food for the presenters and the committee.
We have a few staff changes for next year. We already know from last week’s Wire about our retiring staff: Mrs. Denise Schnurr, Mrs. Beth Reynolds, Mrs. Joan Burrill, Mrs. Cathy Grote, and Mrs. Judy Crowley.

We still have a couple of aide positions to fill but are very excited for the 2024-2025 school year!
I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support and patience this year! The many new changes to EdChoice, SGO, tuition, etc. made for a challenging first year as Principal, but the encouragement from the St. Ignatius students, families, and staff have made it one of the most rewarding years of my career. I have said it many times, but I am so incredibly blessed to be here. I wish you all a summer of relaxation, filled with much family time, and wonderful memories!! Stay safe and may you and your family feel Jesus’s presence every day! HAPPY SUMMER!
In Christ’s Peace,
Angie Heisel
