MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
APRIL 24, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you know, Governor DeWine has mandated that all schools continue using remote learning until the end of the school year. I would like to share some information to outline how we will complete the 2019-2020 school year.
**Packing Up Classrooms/Lockers. The homeroom teachers will pack the students' materials in plastic bags with their names on them. If your child had any medications at school, they will be placed in the plastic bag with your child’s other materials.
Students in our preschool through grade 4 will find their items on tables in the gym.
Students in grades 5-8 will find their materials in the cafeteria.
**Returning St. Ignatius materials. On the day assigned to your family for pick up and drop off, you will need to bring all books, materials and/or technology that belongs to St. Ignatius back to school and place it on the table designated for the homeroom of your child.
Pick Up and Drop Off of Materials will be over a period of 5 days from noon until 6:00pm.
**Monday, June 1: Families with last names starting A through E
**Tuesday, June 2: Families with last names starting F through J
**Wednesday, June 3: Families with last names starting K through O
**Thursday, June 4: Families with last names starting P through T
**Friday, June 5: Families with last names starting U through Z
**The last day of instruction for our 8th graders is Thursday, May 21.
**The last day of instruction for preschool through grade 7 is Friday, May 29.
8th GRADE GRADUATION:
Graduation is still scheduled for Friday, May 29, but I am confident we will need to postpone it. If postponed, it will happen on June 26 at 7:00pm or, if needed, on July 30 at 7:00pm. We will have more on this as we know what social distancing parameters will be in effect.
I will be the first to admit that we have probably missed something, but we are constantly reviewing all scenarios at this time. The plans above are tentative for now, and if directions from the Ohio Department of Health or Education change, we will update our plans.
I pray each day for your health, patience with one another, and those on the front line. I hope it is a source of strength for you.
In Christ’s Peace,
Kevin Vance
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
DEVICE PICK UP DAY
We will have an additional device pick up day on Monday, April 27 from 9:00am-noon. Please email your child's name and grade so our technology coordinator, Ms Karis Bowman, at
kbowman@saintischool.org so she can get the device ready for you.
Thanks to all who participated in the Sources of Strength Generosity Campaign. We sent hundreds of cards, letters and artwork to the residents at St. Margaret Hall.
As part of the Lenten practice of almsgiving, we sent home baby bottles to collect donations for the Pregnancy Center West. Please hold on to those bottles and donations until we meet again. Thanks so much!
A gentle reminder to students to continue to complete your assignments and turn them in on time. Also, attend the live sessions so you can say hello to your teachers and your classmates. If you can’t attend the live session, make sure to watch the recorded session to complete your work or be introduced to a new concept.
A BIG HELP AND SUPPORT
In Christ’s Peace,
Kevin Vance
