Dear Parents and Guardians,
Every year we take time to celebrate the accomplishments and service of our 8th grade class, and last night the Class of 2020 took time together with family and friends to watch the awards assembly. Listed below are the awards that were presented. Please join me in congratulating all of our graduates.

THE LAUREN KUHLMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to Lillian S.
Presented to a student who exemplifies the life of Lauren Kuhlman by his/her demonstration of the ability to reach beyond himself/herself and touch others’ lives. This scholarship is awarded to the student who demonstrates motivation, good citizenship, respect for fellow students and staff, lives a life of good Catholic values, and has a deep commitment to family.
THE BILL WALDECK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to Maura L.
This award acknowledges a student that exemplifies the life of Bill Waldeck, a 2006 graduate of St. Ignatius. Bill had a very positive attitude and was committed to acts of service. Students applied for this scholarship by responding to a writing prompt about their commitment to service.
PATRICIA NIEHAUS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to Elizabeth E.
This scholarship is presented to an eighth-grade girl who has participated in a St. Ignatius music program and plans to continue to develop her musical talents with the Mercy McAuley High School Orchestra.
MARIE ELAINE HARTMAN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Awarded to Charles B.
This scholarship was created by George Hartman, a St. Ignatius parishioner, for a student who is respected by his or her fellow classmates, teachers, family and parish acquaintances as someone with powerful family and Christian values. This person also has an extraordinary desire to help others in time of need, dedicated to living a life filled with compassion, courage, and kindness that is a model for others to follow.
ST. IGNATIUS SENIOR CITIZENS GRANT
Awarded to Anna K., Noah M., and Alyssa M.
This grant is sponsored by the St. Ignatius Seniors Citizens Group to recognize those students, chosen by their classmates, that take advantage of their learning opportunities and exemplify good Christian values in their interactions and friendships with others.
ST. IGNATIUS SERVICE AWARD
Awarded to Joseph B. and Naomi L.
This award is presented to an 8th grade graduate for exemplifying the Ignatian principle of living for others. This annual award is sponsored by Jim’s Auto Clinic.
SISTERS OF MERCY CATHOLIC EDUCATION AWARD
Awarded to Chloe H. and Joseph B.
St. Ignatius School was started in a four-room schoolhouse by the Sisters of Mercy. The Sisters founded their schools around the values of collaboration, educational excellence, compassion, and service. The recipients of this award exemplify and practice these principles of Catholic Education in their daily lives. This scholarship is sponsored by the St. Ignatius Ladycats.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION CITIZEN AWARD
This award is for demonstrating good citizenship as exemplified in the following characteristics: leadership, dependability, cooperation, patriotism, and clean speech and habits.

REPORT CARDS EMAILED FRIDAY, JUNE 5
Report cards will be sent out via email on our last day of school, Friday, June 5. Remember, you will need your login and password information to view this secure document.
A BIG HELP AND SUPPORT
**Packing Up Classrooms/Lockers. The homeroom teachers will pack the students' materials in plastic bags with their names on them. If your child had any medications at school, they will be placed in the plastic bag with your child’s other materials.
Students in our preschool through grade 4 will find their items on tables in the gym.
Students in grades 5-8 will find their materials in the cafeteria.
**Returning St. Ignatius materials. On the day assigned to your family for pick up and drop off, you will need to bring all books, materials and/or technology that belongs to St. Ignatius back to school and place it on the table designated for the homeroom of your child.
Pick Up and Drop Off of Materials will be over a period of 5 days from noon until 6:00pm.
**Monday, June 1: Families with last names starting A through E
**Tuesday, June 2: Families with last names starting F through J
**Wednesday, June 3: Families with last names starting K through O
**Thursday, June 4: Families with last names starting P through T
**Friday, June 5: Families with last names starting U through Z
**As part of the Lenten practice of almsgiving, we sent home baby bottles to collect donations for the Pregnancy Center West. Please return the bottles during the materials pick up and drop off date in June.
**During drop off and pick up, we ask that only parents come into the building. Please follow social distancing guidelines, wear a mask, enter using one entrance and exit using the opposite door.**
