MR. VANCE'S NEWS TO USE THIS WEEK
AUGUST 21, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with a grateful heart that I announce the school year is officially underway! I want to commend the staff and students for their graceful patience as we learn how to do school in a Covid-19 era. New protocols have been introduced and practiced such as frequent handwashing, social distancing, and how to wear our face masks. Even with all the new safety precautions, the students are laughing and smiling as they work on their studies and play. Saint Ignatius is so blessed to have such resilient and hope filled students and adults!
Teacher Introduction Nights are being held virtually this year. Each teacher your child has during the day will be sharing a video link with you to watch and listen during the next week. Please take some time to watch and listen about classroom expectations, projects, and how to communicate and problem solve with the staff. I have asked the staff to post their videos by Friday, September 4.
**Reminder to our middle school parents (Grades 6-8):
You will receive numerous links for videos because your child has at least nine teachers. The videos will stay posted for a while; take your time to view them.
During the month of September, students and staff will be learning about the virtue of the month – Charity. We will take time to define it, witness it, and practice it. Students will be introduced to three special saints: St. Gertrude, St. Vincent DePaul, and Venerable Laura Vicuna who are examples of Charity for us to emulate.
May we continue to practice what Saint Ignatius challenged all to do with our lives, “Ad maiorem Dei gloriam” or AMDG, make your lives and actions “for the greater glory of God.”
In Christ's Peace,
Kevin Vance
Principal
